INTRODUCTION The COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) which was caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) which the first case was identified from an outbreak in Wuhan in China in December 2019. The pandemic rapidly spread across the globe after attempts to contain it in China failed. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020 and a pandemic on 11 March 2020. As of 2 January 2022, the pandemic had caused more than 289 million cases and 5.44 million deaths which is one of the deadliest diseases in history. COVID-19 symptoms can be from none to deadly which is more likely in elderly patients and those with certain underlying medical conditions are more likely to have higher risk to get infected by this virus.
